Teachers and LGUSD reach an agreement

The Los Gatos Union School District and the Los Gatos Elementary Teachers' Association reached a tentative agreement on April 1 on a contract that proposes a new "optional" salary schedule, Superintendent Mary Ann Park said.

The salary schedule proposal had led to strained relations between the two sides over the past six months. Many teachers expressed dissatisfaction about it at board meetings during the public comment portion of their meetings.

The members of the teachers association voted on the contract on April 2 and 5, and the LGUSD is scheduled to vote at its April 6 meeting. Park said that once the contract has been approved by both sides, details will be released.
