Town needs volunteers
The Town of Los Gatos is looking for residents to fill empty seats on various commissions and committees.
Seats are open on the Architectural Standards Committee, Arts Commission (which boasts five vacancies out of nine seats), Board of Appeals, Library Board, Parking Commission, Parks Commission and Redevelopment Advisory Committee.
Application forms are available in the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall. Deadline to apply is June 4. Interviews will be held at the June 21 Town Council meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Meet to discuss pesticide use
The Sierra Club's Guadalupe Regional Group meets May 20 at the Saratoga Community Library. A panel of speakers will address growing concerns over risks associated with urban pesticide use.
The talks will center around the use and reliance on pesticides by corporate and domestic agriculture sources, and their effects on people.
The Guadalupe Group will also discuss trends and risks in schools and other public buildings and parks.
Featured guests include Elisa Lynch of Pesticide Watch. The discussion will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the library's Community Room. Call Bob Serina at 448-5120.
Chamber Mixer
Want to talk business? The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce mixer is set for Wednesday, May 19, at First American Title, 264 Los Gatos-Saratoga Road from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Cost is $5 for members and $15 for non-members. Admission includes food catered by Sweet Pea's cafe. Call 354-9300 for more information.
