Los Gatos Weekly-TimesSports BriefsPlayoff bound Los Gatos and Leigh will be well represented in the upcoming Central Coast Section baseball and softball playoffs. The Gatos baseball team (11-14) will open play in the CCS Division II playoffs on May 20, 4 p.m., when the Cats meet Burlingame (13-12) at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Leigh (18-10), meanwhile, will be at Muni on May 21 for a 7 p.m. clash with South San Francisco (19-7) in the CCS Division I baseball playoffs. In softball action, Gatos (19-6) will take on South San Francisco (14-8) on May 21, 5 p.m., at San Jose PAL Stadium in CCS Division II play. Leigh (16-11) battles Milpitas (19-7) on May 20, 5 p.m., at PAL in CCS Division I action. LGLL dinner dance The Los Gatos Little League will host a dinner-dance for parents of players on May 30, 6-11 p.m., at the Los Gatos Elks Lodge. The cost is $24 per person, and attendance is limited to 150. The event will be catered by Johnny's Northside Grill. For more information, call Karen Frey at 356-1424. Ambort wins title Chelsea Ambort, a 12-year-old fencer for the California Fencing Academy in Los Gatos, walked off with two gold medals at the Pacific Coast Championships in Southern California recently. Ambort, a Santa Cruz resident, was a champion in the 12-and-under women's foil and in the 14-and-under women's epee. LG United Soccer The Los Gatos United Soccer League holds fall season registration. Registration forms are available at Mail Boxes Etc., 15466 Los Gatos Blvd., and open registration will be held May 26, 6-9 p.m., at Fisher Middle School.
