The Prowler

A lot can happen in three months, especially when you're the Prowler and it's been that long since you last wrote about all the creative license plates.

Do you think O2BERED, spotted on a green car on Los Gatos- Saratoga Road, reflects the owner's wish to have a red car instead? A horse of a different color was 1DKHRSE, seen on a sporty black sedan on Los Gatos Boulevard. The licence plate frame proclaimed, "The joy is in the ride." It may or may not be a joy to ride in the van with the plate 5KINDER--it depends on the loquaciousness of the five kids.

The driver of the black European car I WSH on E. Main Street evidently wants something, but what? No such problems for the driver of a sport utility vehicle on Highway 85 with the plate XS4SPOT. Perhaps this person used a treasure map to strike it rich and buy a new SUV.

Speaking of questions, the Prowler has noticed some drivers like to ask things on their plates. This cat thought SAPNIN, seen on Blossom Hill Road, was a unique contraction of the colloquial phrase "What's happenin'?" More easily deciphered--at least for those familiar with Bugs Bunny cartoons--was WASUPDR on a car parked along N. Santa Cruz Avenue.

A plate that hit close to home was the brazen GOFERAL on a sports car in a shopping center lot. It's a little too late for this cat, but perhaps other felines can get back in touch with their roots. Maybe that driver knows the driver of the green sedan GATOMAN.

And the winners paws-down for the cutest personalized plates the Prowler has seen lately are PIPSQIK on Almendra Avenue and KATYBUG on University Avenue.
