    The Prowler

It seems like the Prowler always has a ton of things happening in May; that relates to both of this cat's lives--personal and professional. This year is no different, so in keeping with the Prowler's scattered state of affairs, here is a scattered preview of some interesting upcoming events.

On May 23, Los Gatos artist and architect Bill Gould of Bill Gould Design is hosting an open house reception, complete with hors d'oeuvres, wine and music. He'll also be showing mixed-media paintings by George Rivera, prints and paintings by Glen Rogers and an installation by M. Laine Wyatt. All the artwork will be up through mid-October. For reception time and location, call Gould at 408.871.3140 or email bgould@bgdesign.com.

While this cat doesn't usually like to promote commercial events, there's no denying that Harry Potter has become a national craze. With that in mind, wizard wannabees of all ages might want to stop by Borders Books in Old Town on May 28 for a Harry Potter party. Starting at 7 p.m., the free festivities include live entertainment, treats and a raffle for a Harry Potter VHS or DVD movie. There's also a costume contest for kids and adults who come dressed as their favorite character from the magical story series. Perhaps the Prowler will come as a certain feline known to prowl around Hogwarts!

This last item isn't really connected with the merry month of May, but it does have a time element. Gallery Saratoga, an artists' cooperative at 14435-A Big Basin Way in our neighboring city, is looking for a few good men and women to join its growing group of members, each of whom exhibits at different times. For more info, call 408.867.0458.
