TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN DRUG ARREST

Following a routine traffic stop on May 21, Los Gatos police arrested Mitchell Madrigal, 29, on an outstanding warrant as well as three new charges connected with the use of controlled substances.

Madrigal, who identified himself as a transient, was one of two passengers in a car driving along Los Gatos Boulevard about noon when Officer Carl Lewis noticed that no one in the car appeared to be wearing seat belts.

According to LGPD spokeswoman Sgt. Tricia Friedrich, when Lewis pulled the car over, Madrigal volunteered the information about the warrant, which turned out to be for possession of a controlled substance.

Lewis arrested Madrigal for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine for sale and possession of paraphernalia, including glass pipes. Madrigal was booked at the county jail.
