    Let's make a deal

Everything old was new again--or at least for sale again--during the annual Community-Wide Garage Sale, held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 20. Despite the fact that it was one of the hottest weekends the area has experienced this year, that didn't stop droves of shoppers from braving the heat and being giddy with the anticipation of gleaning great bargains and rare finds from the more than 300 garage and yard sales going on throughout Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and unincorporated parts of the county.

All items left over after the frenzied shopping day were picked up by HOPE Rehabilitation Services, which last year collected 22 1/2 tons of usable goods. For information about participating in next year's Community-Wide Garage Sale, call the Los Gatos Community Services Department at 408.354.6824.
