    Honoring George and Ruth Barati

Ruth Barati, joined by her son-in-law Kevin Guillory, speaks during the June 6 dedication ceremony of the Paul Wilson Redwood Sculpture at the Los Gatos Civic Center. The ceremony on the lawn in front of the Los Gatos Town Library celebrated the lives of Ruth and her late husband, Maestro George Barati, who was a world-renowned orchestral composer and conductor, for their contributions to the world of music, literature and the human spirit. Ruth taught yoga for 25 years with the Los Gatos-Saratoga Department of Community Education and Recreation. The sculpture was a gift to the town. Music was provided by the Evergreen Duo and Mimi Carlson, flutist.
