On June 7, Los Gatos police arrested Joseph Anthony Vierra of San Jose on charges of indecent exposure and being under the influence of a controlled substance as well as for an outstanding warrant issued for an earlier incident of being under the influence.
Vierra did not enter a plea during his June 12 arraignment. He is set to return to court June 17.
According to LGPD Sgt. Tricia Friedrich, at around 8:40 p.m., two women--one from Los Gatos and one from San Jose--were walking along Los Gatos Boulevard when they noticed Vierra, 36, walking behind them with his hand on the outside of his pants.
When the women began walking faster, so did Vierra, police said. Disconcerted, they wanted to cross the street but could not due to heavy traffic. They hid behind a pole for a while, but soon Vierra came closer. This time, they heard him making noises, noticed his pants were wet and saw him expose himself.
The women ran to a nearby house and asked the resident to call police. Officers located Vierra near the intersection of Los Gatos Boulevard and Charles Court. Friedrich said Vierra told the officers he'd had a bad reaction to some cocaine he recently used. Officers determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance, possibly cocaine, and also discovered the outstanding warrant.
