Austin will appear in Shrine Classic
To say that Manny Austin contributed to the success of the Los Gatos football team last fall would be like saying Troy Aikman played a role in leading the Dallas Cowboys to the Super Bowl.
What an understatement!
So Austin's names is conspicuously missing in the list of players named to the North team in the Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Football Game.
But don't worry about Austin. He'll be busy enough this summer playing in the very prestigious Shrine All-Star Football Classic.
Austin was one of just 36 football players from California selected to play in the Shrine Classic against a team of all-stars from Texas on July 20 at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Stadium.
Austin was a star wide receiver and defensive back for the Wildcats this past fall. He was named an all-Central Coast Section wide receiver and was picked the most valuable player in the De Anza Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League.
Austin has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play football at the University of Washington this fall.
