The focus was on people and programs that stress collaborative and creative uses of resources.
Suspect arrested over meth bust
Five months after Midpeninsula Regional Open Space rangers stumbled across a major methamphetamine operation at the abandoned Guadalupe College, a San Jose man has been arrested.
Miguel Barajas was arrested by Santa Clara County specialized enforcement team agents after a high-speed pursuit on June 6. Officers found evidence of chemicals associated with the production of methamphetamine.
Barajas, who agents believe has ties to another lab in San Jose, was booked on a number of charges, including conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, child endangerment and evading arrest. When he fled his car, he left his 1-year-old daughter behind, police say.
He is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled to be arraigned July 9.
