Marcia, Danny Wallis are golf champions
Marcia and Danny Wallis of Los Gatos each drove their way to golf championships this spring.
Marcia Wallis, a senior at Los Gatos High, won her third straight Central Coast Section girls golf championship in May, and Danny Wallis, a sophomore at Bellarmine, was the overall winner in the Diablo Valley Junior Championships held a couple of weeks later at the Boundary Oaks Country Club in Walnut Creek.
Marcia carded a three-over par 75 at the Laguna Seca Golf Course in Monterey to win the CCS crown. It was her third straight section championship.
Wallis, who was named to the Parade All-America soccer team this season, will attend Stanford University in the fall on a soccer scholarship.
Her younger brother, Danny, will start his sophomore year at Bellarmine in the fall. He was named the most valuable player on the Bellarmine golf team as a freshman and won a place on the all-league team.
Danny fired a one-over par 73 while playing from the championship tees at Boundary Oaks. His five birdies carried him to a tight victory over William Seuber of Lafayette, who was second at 74 in the boys 16-17 age division.
