The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Neighborhood Center, 208. E. Main St.

In other library news, the Library Board has voted to extend loan periods for some materials.

    Nursery worker dies in accident

A 55-year-old nursery worker died June 19 at the A to Z Tree Nursery in Los Gatos after being hit by a backing delivery truck.

Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police identified the man as Kenneth Yamaga of Morgan Hill. Yamaga reportedly had worked at the nursery on Winchester Boulevard near Highway 85 for about five years.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene at 10:41 a.m. and found that Yamaga had been struck by a large delivery truck. Rescue workers provided first aid, but the victim's injuries were extensive.

A witness to the accident said Yamaga tripped on a cart while walking near the backing truck, falling beneath its wheels. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

A spokeswoman for the nursery described Yamaga as a kind and well-liked person who was well known by customers at several local nurseries.

Officials for OSHA were notified Saturday, and police are investigating the death as an accident. They asked that any witnesses contact investigators at 354-8600.
