    To the Rescue

Los Gatos firefighter engineer Mike Berry (right) explains to firefighter recruit Anthony Cecola how his crew rescued a car-crash victim on Highway 17 in December using the Jaws of Life. Berry was one of five Los Gatos firefighters awarded for their efforts during a ceremony at the Sunnyoaks station in Campbell. Also recognized were fire engineer Chris Gordon, Capt. Mark Norman, paramedic Bill Baziuk and Capt. Richard Tracy. The award, presented by the Hurst Corp., makers of the Jaws of Life, is a national award presented annually to rescue crews using the Jaws of Life for the most difficult rescue of the year.
