Two residents share background
We read the Main Street column in the July 14 issue of the Los Gatos Weekly-Times with great interest because the UCLA Medical Center residency program that Robb McCormick is attending--as mentioned in the column--has only two openings available each year.
The other opening in that program went to our son, Scott Lundberg. Scott was born and raised in Los Gatos, and graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1990 as class valedictorian with letters in football and baseball.
He went on to Stanford, where he graduated in 1994 with degrees in economics and chemistry, and received his M.D. degree at UC-San Diego this year.
That the two available positions in a special residency program are filled by Los Gatans is quite a coincidence, and it says something about the quality of their education.
Scott and Robb should have plenty to talk about.

Council ignores residents, again
The residents of Los Gatos lost another round, again. The Town Council, in a 3-2 vote, sided with the developer, Braddock and Logan, in overturning the Planning Commission's decision to deny a zone change to the Villa Felice property.
Councilmembers Lubeck, Attaway and Blanton turned their backs on the residents who, for over a year, have worked (fought) with this arrogant developer, who believe they have a God-given right to build whatever they want.
Not only did these councilmembers not listen to the residents, but they also discounted input from the Planning Commission and Planning Department.
All the late-evening commission meetings, study sessions and resident letters were completely discounted.
I now wonder whether it's worth participating in these public meetings, when the Town Council can wipe out all the hard work done by the residents, Planning Department staff, and Planning Commission in less than 15 minutes!
Minds were made up even before the meeting was opened to public comment.
