Newspaper earns three CNPA awards

The Los Gatos Weekly-Times earned first-place recognition in three categories in the 1995 California Newspaper Publishers Association CNPA Better Newspapers Contest.

Competing with weekly news-papers with circulations of 11,001- 25,000, the Weekly-Times took first-place awards for design, editorial pages and editorial cartoon.

Steven DeCinzo's award-winning cartoon used as its theme a PG&E blackout that saw many local residents without power for three days. DeCinzo also won first-place awards for editorial cartoons in Metro and the Saratoga News.

Other awards for Metro Newspapers included: Metro, second place for writing; and Metro Santa Cruz, second place for feature story and first place for investigative or enterprise reporting.
