Orr, Newman are winners
Tim Orr and Tom Newman, both of Los Gatos, were division winners in the 23rd running of the rugged Dammit Run.
Early results showed others as finishing first in the two divisions, as reported in last week's paper, but corrected results indicate that Orr was first in the men's heavyweight class in 38:19 and Newman won the boys' high school division.
Ice Hockey
The Ice Chalet may not exactly sound like the proper venue for a rough and tumble sport like hockey.
Maybe figure skating. Maybe ice dancing. But certainly not ice hockey.
Oh yeah?
The Ice Chalet at the Vallco Fashion Park in Cupertino will be the perfect venue for young boys and girls interested in trying their hand at slap shots when a 15-week youth ice hockey program gets under way on Sept. 9.
The program is open to youngsters ages 6-15 playing the mites to bantam divisions, and includes a game and a one-hour practice each week. The cost is $395 per player.
For more information on the program, call 446-2906.
