Badgers win
The Badgers, a boys' under-12 recreational team in the Los Gatos United Soccer League, edged the Pintos 2-1 on goals by Anthony Burks and Adam Nelson. Geoff Hubbard contributed an assist.
Goalkeepers Brendan Franklin and Adam Polizzi shared time in the net, and Alex Kehriotis, Nick Gionfriddo and Nathan Kananen were defensive standouts. Nima Rahimi and Drew Fong also played well.
Oldham sails to fifth
John Oldham of San Jose sailed to a fifth-place finish in a 31-boat field at the National Offshore One Design Regatta over the Labor Day Weekend at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco.
Steve Siegrist and Roger Sturgeon of Los Gatos were other local competitors in the sailing event.
Wildlife Run in Vasona Park
The annual Ron's Wildlife Run returns to Vasona Park in Los Gatos on Sept. 15. The event features a 10K run, a 5K walk and a 2K kids run. For more information, call 356-4945.
Bicycle tours
The Clean Air Bicycle Challenge, co-sponsored by the Los Gatos Kiwanis Club and the American Lung Association, will be held Sept. 14 with tours starting from Los Gatos High School.
Tours feature loops of 20 miles, 50 kilometers, 100 kilometers and 100 miles. The registration fee runs from $10 to $20, and families are welcome.

Annual Carousel to Coaster Run
The annual Great America Carousel to Coaster Run returns to the local theme park Sept. 29, 8:30 a.m.
Participants will take off in 10K and 5K runs that begin and end in the parking lot on Great America Parkway and travel through the middle of the park.
The event benefits the Friends of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department. For information, call 984-3223.
