Lucy Howell
Former Los Gatan Lucy M. Howell died Aug. 16, in Clearwater, Fla., where she had been residing for the past two years. She was 96.
Born on Jan. 25, 1904, in Clinton, Mich., Howell was a homemaker. She lived in Los Gatos from 1964 through 1998.
Howell was preceded in death by her husband Charles C. Howell and daughter Edith DuLany Seibert. Survivors include son Charles C. Howell, Jr. of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; daughter Dorothy M. Sheridan of Dayton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Memorial services have been held, with interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
Michael Leary
Longtime Los Gatan Michael Edward Leary died on Aug. 17, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 89.
Born Jan. 24, 1911, in Montana, Leary worked as a meat cutter for Lee Brothers as well as for Safeway in Los Gatos.
Survivors include wife Gloria Leary of Los Gatos; son Michael Leary of San Jose; granddaughter Kirstie Leary of San Jose; and brother William Leary of Watsonville.
Memorial services have been held.
