    Seats open on county committee

The Santa Clara County Committee on School District Organization will hold an election Dec. 3 to fill three seats on the committee.

There are 11 seats on the committee--two from each of the five county supervisory districts and one member elected at large. Members from supervisorial districts 1, 3 and 5 will be elected this year.

All candidates must be registered voters and reside within the district they wish to represent. No employee of a public school district or the county Office of Education may serve on the committee. However, members of the governing board of a school district may serve.

Persons interested in serving on the committee should submit an application to the Office of Education. The application should consist of a letter of intent to serve and a brief résumé of background and experience that would contribute to participation in the committee's activities.

Candidates must submit the necessary information by 5 p.m. on Oct. 27 to Colleen B. Wilcox, Santa Clara County Office of Education, 1290 Ridder Park Drive, San Jose, 95131-2398.
