    LGHS graduate wins 'tall' scholarship

David Nielsen, a June graduate of Los Gatos High School, was recently awarded the Tall Club of Silicon Valley's 1999 scholarship in the amount of $500. In addition, his application was forwarded to Tall Clubs International, who awarded him a $1,000 Kae Sumner Einfeldt Scholarship. This is the second year that the Tall Club of Silicon Valley has produced a $1,000 national scholarship winner. Nielsen plans to attend Princeton University this fall.

Academics, activities and achievement all played a part in the selection process for the scholarship, but an additional requirement is that the applicant be tall. David is 6 feet 5 inches tall and meets the height qualification for membership in Tall Clubs International of 6 feet 2 inches for men.
