Los Gatos, Saratoga join up for mixer

The Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce teams up with the neighboring Saratoga Chamber for a joint after-hours mixer Oct. 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Toll House Hotel, 140 S. Santa Cruz Ave.

Themed "The Cat's Meow," the joint mixer is an annual event that brings out a big crowd from the Los Gatos and Saratoga business communities. Those attending are encouraged to bring business cards for networking.

Cost is $5 for Chamber members and $10 for non-members. Refreshments will be served.

    Forums let voters hear candidates

Three separate Los Gatos Town Council candidate forums have been scheduled next week, offering voters an opportunity to grill candidates about their positions on community issues.

The first, sponsored by the Neighborhood Alliance and billed as a Hard Questions Forum, takes place on Oct. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Recreation Center, 123 E. Main Street.

On Oct. 26, both the Town Chamber of Commerce and the Los Gatos-Saratoga-Monte Sereno League of Women Voters get into the act, with the Chamber offering a Candidates Breakfast Forum at the Los Gatos Lodge. The League ends the day with the four council hopefuls in the town council chambers.

The Chamber breakfast is from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. For reservations, contact Pattidawn at 408.354.9300. The LWV forum takes place at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 408.867.VOTE.
