All local dogs are invited the participate in the first annual Fluffy Puppy Doggie Howl'oween Costume Party--a social event for canines and their humans, and a fundraiser for a good cause.

The party takes place Oct. 29, from noon to 4 p.m. at Fluffy Puppy, a pet salon at 656-A N. A photographer will also be on hand to take portraits .

Entry fee is $10 per dog, with proceeds benefiting Furry Friends Pet-Assisted Therapy, a Bay Area nonprofit that takes animals to visit patients at various medical facilities, including the Children's Home in Gilroy, the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, Valley Medical Center's spinal chord and head trauma wards in San Jose and the Veterans' Hospital in Palo Alto.
