Longtime Monte Sereno residents Ned and Marian Gault are again co-directing Ensemble International, a performing folk dance group that will perform Dance and Music Kaleidoscope II on Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. as part of San Jose's Performing Arts Series at the Montgomery Theater in downtown San Jose.

The concert features folk dances and music of North America, Poland and Russia and includes guest performers the Barbary Coast Cloggers, bluegrass band Mr. Banjo and the Lonesome Wailers and the violin-piano duo of Tibor Horvath and Yelena Savchenko.

The Gaults are known in the performing arts community as performers, dancers and teachers of international folk dance as well as for their experience in choreography, costume design, stage production, artistic arrangements, sound and music. Ned is a former electronics engineer and Leigh High School chemistry teacher who now devotes his time to his creative pursuits. Marian is a former junior high school teacher in the Cambrian School District who now works as a freelance artist and calligrapher.

The couple have been Ensemble International's artistic directors since the group formed in 1966 and have since led it in more than 1,200 performances and three European performing tours. They have also taught all levels of dance for various South Bay recreation departments and adult education programs.

Tickets for Dance and Music Kaleidoscope II are $15 in advance or $18 at the door for adults; cost for seniors and students is $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Group rates are available. For more information, call 408.395.8026.
