Basketball registration set for youth
The Los Gatos NJB Basketball League will add a boys team for players in grades 9-12 this season.
Games will be played on Sundays beginning Dec. 12, and the Los Gatos team will compete against other squads from the South Bay Section of the NJB.
The registration fee of $150 includes a uniform, games and practices, and the registration deadline is Nov. 14, or until the team is filled. Registration forms are available at Mailboxes, Etc., 15466 Los Gatos Blvd., Suite 109. For information, call Frank Fritsch at 408.356.6547.
Sweet Shots
Basketball players will learn better shooting techniques at the Sweeten Your Shot Camp to be held in Tiffin Gym at San Jose Christian College. Camps are slated for Nov. 5, 5-8 p.m., and Nov. 6, 10 a.m.- 1 p.m., for players ages 10-18.
The cost is $35, and instruction will be provided by college coaches and players. The coach-to-player ratio is one-to-five. For more information, call 408.278.4381.
Youth Basketball
The Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation Department is holding registration for boys and girls in the third-sixth grades interested in playing in youth basketball.
Games will be played on Saturdays, Jan. 8-March 11, at the Los Gatos High School and Fisher Middle School gyms. A one-hour evening practice will be held once a week beginning the week of Dec. 6.
Mail and fax (408.395.3828) registration is now under way, and so is walk-in registration during regular hours (Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m.) at the Los Gatos Recreation Center, 123 E. Main St. The registration deadline is Nov. 12 or until the leagues are filled. The $65 registration fee includes a T-shirt and picture (non-residents pay an additional $5). Gym open to 40-plus
The small gym at Saratoga High School will be open for basketball for players age 40 and over every Tuesday, 7-9 p.m. The drop-in fee is $3 per night, and new players must show proof of age. For more information, call 408.868.1248.
