Pumpkin Picnic
Los Gatos Rotarian Lew Merrill helps Melissa Negrete, 8, carve a jack-o'-lantern during the club's annual Halloween picnic at Oak Meadow Park. The event, which featured lunch, rides on the Billy Jones railroad and carousel, and pumpkin carving, took place on Oct. 26. Some 100 children from special education classes at Carlson, Lietz, Oster and Alta Vista schools participated. Judy Stein, a teacher in the Union School District, served as coordinator between the schools and the Rotary Club.
