    Neighborhood Alliance meets

The Neighborhood Alliance will meet Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. to discuss the North Forty, the mobile-home park conversion and parking issues, among other things.

The alliance is committed to advocating common community interests through creating a strong network among Los Gatos and Monte Sereno residents.

The meeting, held at A Place for Teens, will also include the introduction of new neighborhood team captains and an open discussion session.

Town agrees to TLC on sidewalks

The Town Council on Nov. 1 agreed to fund the mechanical cleaning of downtown sidewalks in conjunction with annual Sunrise Sidewalk Sweep on Nov. 6.

Council members unanimously approved a one-time expenditure of approximately $6,000 to contract with a professional sidewalk cleaning company.

Council members also expressed interest in purchasing a cleaning machine, which would cost about $20,000. They agreed to wait on purchasing until details were worked out regarding who would be responsible for using the equipment.

    Planners look
    at North Forty

The Planning Commission continues looking at the draft of the North Forty Specific Plan at its regular meeting Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 110 E. Main St.

Since the Neighborhood Alliance began generating interest in the North Forty, many have offered ideas.

At the beginning of the meeting, fourth- and fifth-graders in the Los Gatos Union School District's GATE program will offer a few ideas of their own, ideas generated during a GATE seminar.
