Faryn Haines, 12, a student at Fisher Middle School, joins friends for the Sunrise Cleanup Nov. 6 from 6 to 9 a.m. in downtown Los Gatos. The cleanup was sponsored by the Town Chamber of Commerce beautification committee in partnership with CASA/Club Live. Activities included pulling weeds, picking up trash, sweeping parking lots and cleaning sidewalks throughout the N. Santa Cruz Avenue and Main Street areas. The Town Council voted last week to hire a professional sidewalk cleaning company to ensure that the sidewalks will shine. Shirley Henderson, who chairs the beautification committee, and Stephanie Aguilar of CASA/Club Live worked with Parks and Public Works Director Scott Baker and Phil Couchee of Green Valley Disposal to coordinate the cleanup effort.
