    Cougars fall in playoffs

    The Los Gatos Cougars saw their brilliant 2000 season come to an end when they dropped a 18-0 decision to Hollister in the Pop Warner Football League junior midget division playoffs.

    The Cougars finished the year with an impressive 8-3 record, the most wins ever for a Los Gatos team in the division.

    Stefan Fowler led the running attack for the Cougars, and Richie Scudellari tossed a 40-yard pass to Nick Harris.

    Los Gatos Pony-Colt

    Los Gatos Boys Baseball will hold signups for its Pony (ages 13-14) and Colt (ages 15-16) divisions on Nov. 15, 7-9 p.m., in the cafeteria at Fisher Middle School.

    Players must provide a birth certificate and provide proof of residency at the registration. The fee is $200 per player.

    The league is also looking for volunteer coaches for the Pony divisions. Previous coaching experience at this level or experience as a college baseball player is preferred.

    Quicksilver Volleyball

    The Quicksilver Volleyball Club will hold tryouts for its age group teams (ranging from 12 to 18).

    Tryouts will be held on Nov. 19 at Oak Grove High School at the following times: ages 12, 13 and 14-- 9-11 a.m.; 15 and 16-- noon-2 p.m.; and ages 17 and 18-- 3-5 p.m.

    Players should arrive early to sign forms and bring their own knee pads. The tryout fee is $20.
