Commission approves house
Los Gatans soon will see something other than an oddly shaped dirt patch at 101 Blossom Hill Road. Paul Izor received approval from the Planning Commission on Nov. 10 to proceed with his building plans for the property.
Izor satisfied commissioners' concerns regarding entry to the lot, building height and window specifications.
Izor was asked to consider changing the location of one of two fireplaces to avoid giving the roofline a "horn-like" appearance, and to submit a landscaping plan to the Developmental Review Committee because the lot is in such a prominent location.
Chamber plans briefing, mixer
Community members are invited to attend a hot-issues briefing and Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce mixer on Nov. 18 at the Los Gatos Lodge.
Organizers aim to build community to increase the town's economic vitality.
The briefing begins at 4:30 p.m.; the mixer follows from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A $10 contribution is requested. Call 408.354.9300 for reservations.
Library looks for community input
Local library lovers are encouraged to attend the special meeting of the Los Gatos Public Library Board on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers.
The Library Visioning Committee will hear and discuss public suggestions on what Los Gatans would like the new library to look like and offer.
Although funding issues remain unresolved, John Housley, president of the Library Board, said the group is going ahead with the design aspect of the process and would like considerable public participation.
