Los Gatos Weekly-Times Esquivel, Mattern Richard H. and Ruth Mattern of Saratoga announce the engagement of their daughter, Kirsten Kimberly Mattern, to Michael Tomas Esquivel, son of Ann Esquivel of San Dimas and Michael A. Esquivel of Covina. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Los Gatos High School and Stanford University. She is a graduate student at the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC-Davis. Her fiance is a graduate of Damien High School in La Verne and Stanford University. He is a graduate student at Columbia University School of Law in New York. They plan a summer wedding in 2000.
