Bell tower site to be addressed

The Los Gatos Historical PreservationCommittee is having a special meeting nextweek to examine possible sites for the belltower that once stood at Town Plaza Park.Some of the options that have been named arethe Los Gatos Civic Center lawn, Oak MeadowPark and the University Avenue fire station.

The July 31 meeting starts at 7 p.m., and thetown invites all interested parties toattend. The meeting is at the councilchambers, 110 E. Main St.


Fee changes at Oak Meadow Park

Starting this week, the town is imposing somenew fees for those using Oak Meadow Park, atBlossom Hill Road and University Avenue.Nonresidents must pay $4 per day, pervehicle; parking for residents of Los Gatosand Monte Sereno, seniors and people withdisabilities remains free.

There is also a new refundable deposit of$100 for park cleaning and security whenreservations are made for special events. Formore information, call 408.399.5781.


Historic 'castle' site of July Chamber mixer

The Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce isholding its monthly mixer at Take ChargeFinancial, which is in the historic "castle"building at 315 University Ave. Refreshmentsand raffle prizes will be available at theevent, which will be held on Wednesday, July31, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The cost is $5 for Chamber members and $10for nonmembers. To make reservations, contactthe Chamber of Commerce at 408.354.9300.
