Los Gatos, California Since1881
| The Prowler We may be in the middle of the summer, but that doesn't mean it's too hot for one of this country's (and this cat's) favorite foods--pizza! And what better way for kids to spend a summer afternoon than going to pizza camp! That's right: Willow Street Wood-Fired Pizza in Los Gatos is holding two such "camps" on July 29 and Aug. The event was held for the first time last year as part of the local chain's ongoing effort to participate in the communities that have supported it these past 10 years. Participants will roll up their sleeves and their dough, pick their toppings and create their own tasty Italian pies. The Prowler wishes cats could participate! Classes fill up fast, so call 408.354.5566 for reservations. No reservations are required to enjoy the new Main Street Bridge mural, located along the Los Gatos Creek Trail underneath the Main Street Bridge. Thanks to Carol Huboi-Werry and her 60 volunteers, a once-boring concrete wall is now a colorful scene depicting Los Gatos' natural history. On July 27 at 4 p.m., a group will gather at the mural to mingle and celebrate its completion, followed by a short walk to Forbes Mill Museum for an artists' reception with refreshments. The Town of Los Gatos Community Services Department is hosting the shindig. Be sure to stop by! Finally, don't miss D. Michael Kane, a Cat Town financial advisor, in I Heard the Bell Toll, a play written by Cathal Gallagher that tells the true story of Margaret of Castello, who struggled with deformity and abandonment in 14th-Century Italy. It's put on by the Quo Vadis Theatre Company and takes place July 2527 in San Jose. This cat is out of room, so call 408.252.3530 for the rest of the details! |
