Science camps at Vasona
Discovery Quest Summer Science Day Camps are
headed to Vasona Lake Park. The camps run in
four-day sessions comprised of a half or full
day of activity and continue through Aug. 23.
Topics alternate on a weekly basis. Classes
are $249 per session, and are geared toward
elementary school-age children. Parents
may enroll their children by calling

Hwang makes dean's list
Los Gatos resident Brian Hwang was recently
named to the dean's list at Lehigh
University. The Pennsylvania university was
founded in 1865 and awards certificates of
achievement for the dean's list to students
who maintain a GPA of 3.5 or better.
Ikeda honored at Scripps
Crystal Ikeda of Los Gatos was one of 12 Bay
Area residents to be named to the dean's list
at Scripps College in Claremont, Calif. Ikeda
is a sophomore with an undeclared major, and
has maintained an A- average to be named to
the list.
Locals on UCSB list
Los Gatos residents Ashley Dumont and Ryan
Moore have been named to the dean's list at
the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Dumont, a psychology major, and Moore, a
communications major, were among those
students who maintained a 3.75 GPA on a
program of 12 or more units.
Housley earns special honor
Los Gatos resident Andy Housley made the
University of Arkansas chancellor's list.
Housley, a junior in the Sam M. Walton
College of Business, has been recognized for
maintaining a 4.0 GPA while enrolling in a
minimum of 12 units per semester.
Schaffer a Tufts grad
Emily Beth Schaffer of Los Gatos was one of
2,500 students to graduate from Tufts
University in Massachusetts this year. The
graduation ceremony marked Tuft's 150th
anniversary.
Arnaudo is a Bryn Mawr grad
Anna Marie Arnaudo, the daughter of Rose and
Don Arnaudo of Monte Sereno, graduated summa
cum laude from the all-female Pennsylvania
college Bryn Mawr.
Arnaudo was also distinguished with honors in
biology and won a Barry M. Goldwater
Scholarship for Excellence in Education.
Presently she plans to attend either Harvard
University or UC-Berkeley for a doctoral
program in molecular biology.
