The Prowler
|
 |
Whether from procrastinating or forgetting,
the Prowler inevitably misses out on fun
opportunities at times. In the hopes that
readers will learn from this cat's mistakes,
here are details on two cool events
that aren't happening for awhile. So plan
ahead!
Would-be superstars should mark Sept. 9 on
their calendarsthat's the deadline for
talent show performer applications for
the annual St. Mary's Country Fair.
According to the flyer, "If you've got the
talent, we've got the stage." So, to all
those aspiring local singers, dancers,
comedians, magicians and other
performerspick up an application and get it
filled out ASAP.
There's a pretty penny available to
talent show winners: $500 for first place,
$300 for second place and $200 for third
place. And, of course, there's the fame,
which has no price. Auditions take
place Sept. 14 by appointment only; the
actual fair takes place Oct. 12 on the St.
Mary's campus at 219 Bean Ave. For
application forms or additional information,
call 408.377.6515 or email
smstalent@hotmail.com.
Keep those pens handy, because here's another
shindig to note. On Sept. 27, the Los
Gatos High School New Millennium
Foundation is kicking off its Alumni
Reunion Weekend with a football game and
alumni recognition event. On Sept. 28 the fun
continues with LGHS campus tours from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. The capstone of the weekend is
Sept. 29, with an auction and car raffle at
the Los Gatos Opera House. The Prowler
suspects refreshments will also be on hand.
Auction admission is $25 per person. For $100
per person, folks can score a raffle ticket
and admission to the auction. For
details, call 408.354.2730, ext. 336.
