Police Report
Harassing Phone Calls—Aug. 14, 1:32 p.m. A Cuesta de Los Gatos resident received four harassing phone calls and thought the suspect was someone she went to school with. Her car had been egged a week earlier and she suspected it was the same person. Police took a report.

Gas Investigation—Aug. 14, 1:18 p.m. Construction workers on Nicholson Avenue pierced a gas line under the house they were working on. Police thought some traffic control was needed.

Firearms Discharged—Aug. 14, 1:14 p.m. Four shots were heard in the vicinity of Jackson Street and Central Court. The resident who heard the shots told police there was construction going on in the area. No report was taken after police found that it was construction worker using a nail gun.

Stray Animal—Aug. 14, 11:39 a.m. A pickup truck was parked on N. Santa Cruz with a dog in the bed of the truck for more than 20 minutes. Passerby thought the dog was in distress because of the hot weather. By the time police arrived, the truck was gone.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle—Aug. 14, 10:15 a.m. A silver Toyota Camry was parked on Harwood Road for more than one week. The San Jose Police Department had reported the Camry as stolen. A neighbor said the car had been there at least two weeks. The car was not wrecked, stripped or burned, but both its license plates were missing. Police took a report.

Drunk in Public—Aug. 14, 3:19 a.m. A man who sounded incoherent or drunk called police from a pay phone on Union Avenue asking for help. Police stopped the man, who was in a wheelchair, and arrested him for being drunk in public.

Warrant Served—Aug. 13, 1:39 a.m. On Arlee Drive, a van pulled up in front of a house. Two people got out of the van and started walking around the neighborhood while one person stayed in the car. Police charged all three with possessing stolen property. One man in the group had a no-bail warrant for his arrest, while another man was charged with possessing methamphetamine.

Prowler—Aug. 13, 12:21 a.m. On Kensington Way, a resident heard a banging noise from the backyard, and the household's dog started scratching on the door. The resident did not see a strange vehicle but saw a person behind the property. Police were unable to locate anyone.

Patrol Check—Aug. 11, 8:53 a.m. A homeless encampment was found on the west side of the Los Gatos High School track. The tent in the encampment bordered the off-ramp to northbound Highway 17 and eastbound Highway 9. Police were unable to retrieve the tent through the high school. Caltrans left a sign giving the owners 72 hours' notice to remove the camp. No report was taken.
