Slip and Fall—Aug. 20, 8:37 p.m. A 75-year-old woman was walking on N. Santa Cruz Avenue, near Bachman Avenue, when she slipped. A passerby called 911, but medical attention was canceled after the woman's family helped her up. There was no injury, and no report was taken.
Suspicious Vehicle—Aug. 20, 8:19 p.m. A motor home and a pickup truck drove onto Calle Marguerita, and the drivers started unloading things onto a field. A resident thought the drivers were building a temporary shelter. No report was taken after police found out that it was a general contractor dropping off equipment for construction.
Argument—Aug. 20, 7:33 p.m. On Pinewood Lane, a couple was separated after arguing with each other. The man was allegedly verbally threatening the woman. It was unknown if he had weapons or if he was under the influence. The police were told that the man often gets upset and makes accusations. After making the landlord aware of the situation, the police advised the couple. No report was filed.
Theft—Aug. 20, 1:47 p.m. An employee's check was stolen from the mail of a N. Santa Cruz Avenue business. Police took a report.
Gas—Aug. 20, 1:39 p.m. There was a strong smell of gas inside and outside of a N. Santa Cruz Avenue business. The county fire department was summoned to the scene. A neighbor had evidently used too much bug spray.
Vehicle Accident—Aug. 20, 1:16 p.m. A car struck another car in a N. Santa Cruz Avenue parking lot and then left the scene. The security guard gave police information about the suspect's vehicle. Police tracked down the driver and found that it had been an accident. No report was taken.
Suspicious Person—Aug. 20, 11:57 a.m. On E. Main Street, a disheveled man was wandering through a store. He was making faces at the patrons and sticking his fingers in his ears. He left on a bicycle before police arrived.
Dead Animal—Aug. 20, 8:58 a.m. Animal control was called to remove an injured fawn that had died in the backyard of a Teresita Way home.
Suspicious Vehicle—Aug. 20, 8:43 a.m. A gray van was circling a residential area, parking in front of Bachman Avenue homes, then leaving and returning. It was determined that the driver was waiting for a nearby bank to open and doing paperwork in the meantime. No report was taken.
Harassment—Aug. 19, 12:50 p.m. A person working on National Avenue was receiving harassing phone calls. The suspect was the victim's employer. The victim did not want prosecution but wanted the incidents documented in a police report. The suspect had called multiple times and had once thrown coffee at the employee's desk.
