Habitat for Humanity needs applicants

Silicon Valley Habitat for Humanity is holding two community meetings for families interested in living in its Los Gatos home, to be constructed on Charles Street. The families must meet certain guidelines, such as currently living or working in town and earning 30 to 50 percent of the county's median income. At the Sept. 4 and 8 meetings, Habitat will discuss eligibility requirements and the selection and building process.

The Sept. 4 meeting is from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, and Shir Hadash hosts the Sept. 8 meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. For more information, call 408.294.6464.

Coffee with the mayor continues

PMonte Sereno Mayor Jack Lucas only has a few months left on the city council and would like to invite citizens to the monthly Coffee with the Mayor gathering. Lucas will be at Monte Sereno City Hall at 9:30 a.m. on every first Friday of the month to meet and discuss important issues with residents. Coffee and pastries will be served.

The next Coffee with the Mayor is Sept. 6.

Town needs input for civic center

Los Gatos is looking for community participation in its plans for a new civic center, which includes the town hall, library, police station and corporation yard. At the forum scheduled for Sept. 5, the town will ask what services and access residents want to see in the next decade. Architecture and design will not be addressed in the discussion.

The forum is from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Los Gatos Town Council chambers.
