When it rains, it pours, as the saying goes, and Sept. 29 is no exception. On that Sunday, two fun and interesting events are taking place at the same time—but fortunately not in the same place.
From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Los Gatos Brewing Company will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with an early Oktoberfest party comprising appetizers, an all-you-can-eat barbecue, "Oktoberfestive" beers and live music.
Commemorative brew mugs from the brew pub will also be given away, as will awards for the best traditional German attire (the Prowler hears this includes the infamous lederhosen!). Speaking of appearances, this cat also hears the brewing company has undergone some pretty classy interior renovations.
Tickets are $30 a pop in advance, or $35 at the door on the day of the party. For additional info, call 408.395.9929 or visit www.lgbrewingco.com.
For those folks who prefer quieter diversions, the Los GatosSaratoga Community Concert Association presents Festival of Four at 2:30 p.m. in the Los Gatos High School Auditorium. The group consists of Viviana Guzman on classical and ethnic flutes, Richard Patterson on folk and jazz guitar, Guillermo Rios on flamenco guitar and Mark Teicholz on classical guitar.
Admission to the concert is $20 per person. Season tickets for the group's four-concert season (which includes Festival of Four) are on sale for $50 each. Discounts are available for seniors, students and families. For information or ticket applications, stop by the Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce at 349 N. Santa Cruz Ave.
