LGSCCA elects new officers, begins season
The nonprofit Los GatosSaratoga Community Concert Association (LGSCCA), which presents four concerts each year in the Los Gatos High School auditorium, elected a new slate of officers at its annual board meeting. Serving during the 2002-03 concert season will be June Sythe, president; Lea Frey and Diana Pleasant, cofirst vice presidents; Berit Cattolico, second vice president; Jean Nelson and Tim Tobias, co-third vice presidents; Bill Frey, treasurer; and Eve Stephens, secretary.

Adrienne Zimmerman, the organization's secretary for the past three years, resigned. Other board members Margaret Caldwell, Ollie Grespan, Maryon Hicks, Pat Khan, Beverly Rouse, Tommy Warren and Don Weller all accepted renewed three-year terms, and Mark Miano was nominated to join the board. Miano's instatement will be confirmed at the group's next business meeting.

The organization also commended for their donations the Town of Los Gatos Arts Council ($870), the city of Monte Sereno ($1,000) and the general LGSCCA membership ($1,500). Due to increases in newsletter mailing costs, performers' fees and the cost of auditorium upgrades, the LGSCCA hopes to see a rise in membership for the 2002-03 season.

The season opened on Sept. 29 with Festival of Four, a group known for its blend of classical and ethnic music. The Rhythm Brothers take the stage on Nov. 10 to perform an eclectic repertoire ranging from swinging jazz to soothing classical to happy bluegrass—all with a dash of comedy mixed in for good measure. On Feb. 2, 2003, sisters Yoon and Min Kwon will give a violin and piano recital, blending their instruments as they have done for the past 25 years. Concluding the season, on April 27, is pianist Luba Sindler, who has performed worldwide.

Season tickets are $50 for adults, $45 for senior citizens, $10 for students and $110 for the family plan, which includes two adults and any number of students. Tickets for individual concerts are available at the door for $20 each. All concerts take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Los Gatos High School auditorium.
