League will host forum for council
By Gloria I. Wang
The Los Gatos community will have a chance to meet all the Los Gatos Town Council candidates and ask them questions at an upcoming forum.

On Thursday, Oct. 10, the League of Women Voters of Southwest Santa Clara Valley and the Los Gatos Weekly-Times will hold a candidates' forum with the five Los Gatos council hopefuls.

The forum starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Los Gatos Town Council chambers, 110 E. Main St., below the library and police department. Marge Bunyard, league voter services chairwoman, predicts the event will be over by 9:30 p.m.

The candidates—Barry Bakken, Paul Dubois, Diane McNutt, Mike Wasserman and incumbent Joe Pirzynski—will each start off with a five-minute presentation. Throughout the evening, audience members will write down questions and pass them along to the moderator. Bunyard says Saratoga resident and league member Marlene Duffin will serve as the moderator, since she is not a Los Gatos voter.

After the forum, the community will have the opportunity to chat with the individual candidates.

"This is what the league does as part of their voter services," Bunyard said.
