Suspicious Package—Oct. 9, 9:13 p.m. A gift bag had been pinned to a telephone pole for more than a week. The pole was in front of a house, and the resident, who was concerned and afraid, called the police. The resident did not want to touch the bag but saw a card inside with a name on it. The bag was full of candy.
Resuscitator—Oct. 8, 8:51 p.m. A 72-year-old man had a diabetic attack in a house on Viewfield Road. The man's son found him and didn't know if he was conscious or breathing, but said he was choking on his own saliva. The man was taken to Santa Clara Kaiser Permanente.
Argument—Oct. 8, 5:24 p.m. Three men were in the hallway of a Belblossom Way home, refusing to leave. The woman who lived there had locked herself inside the bedroom and called police. She said one of the men was a stockbroker and the other two were his friends; they were arguing with her about stock options. The men left and police gave the woman advice.
Warrant Served—Oct. 8, 3:53 p.m. Police conducted a traffic stop on Almendra Avenue at N. Santa Cruz Avenue. The man who was driving had a no-bail warrant for his arrest from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office for bad checks. He was arrested and his car towed.
Custody Violation—Oct. 8, 8:07 a.m. A man showed up at the police department's lobby to report that his ex-wife had failed to show up at a Los Gatos restaurant a few days earlier to drop off their daughter. The man wanted the incident documented for further proceedings and made a report.
Unstable Person—Oct. 8, 2:41 a.m. A woman on E. Main Street said she was overwhelmed, "over the edge" and wanted to drive her car off a cliff. She said she was taking medication for bipolar disorder. An ambulance took her to emergency protective services at Valley Medical Center, and she was arrested.
Burglary—Oct. 8, 12:19 a.m. A person was inside the old Maxxim Medical building on Winchester Boulevard, trying to steal some electrical wiring. Police arrested him for burglary and possession of a tool for an unlawful purpose.
Threats—Oct. 6, 4:33 p.m. A 55-year-old man was threatening another person on Riviera Drive over a previous argument. The argument was about a practical joke that had been played on a mutual acquaintance. The parties were separated, and police advised both.
