Last week, the Prowler mentioned the residences and businesses that took top honors in the Town of Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee's contest on the most welcoming entrances or porches. Apparently, there was also a list of runners-up this cat forgot. They are: 16330 Matilija Drive, 45 and 62 Broadway, 118 Bacigalupi Drive, 455 San Benito Ave., 251 Main St., 16 and 18 Pennsylvania Ave., 104 Johnson Hollow, 119 and 151 Massol Ave., 75, 76 and 126 Alpine Ave., 5 Palm Ave., 40 and 52 Hernandez Drive, 16400 Englewood Ave., 55, 117 and 119 Tait Ave., Royal Touch Massage Therapy at 254 E. Main St. and Los Gatos High School.
Another town-related event is Second Chance Week, Oct. 2125. During that period, the Los Gatos Senior Center (located inside the Neighborhood Center at 208 E. Main St.) will be collecting gently used clothing of all types for men, women, children and babies, as well as crib sheets, bed sheets and bath towels. All donations will be given to InnVision and the Emergency Housing Consortium, nonprofit agencies that operate shelters in the South Bay. Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon. For more info, call 408.399.5796.
Finally, don't miss the annual Harvest Boutique and Tea fundraiser on Oct. 24 at the Sisters of the Holy Names Convent, 200 Prospect Ave. The tea begins at 2:15 p.m. and includes homemade sandwiches and desserts. The Prowler hears there will also be door prizes! The boutique runs from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and features collectibles, handcrafted gifts, homemade jams and baked goods. Admission to the tea is $10 per person; no charge to browse the boutique. For reservations, call 408.395.2868.
