Managers needed
The Los Gatos Little League is looking for managers for major division baseball teams for the 2003 season. Anyone interested is encouraged to send a letter to the league no later than Nov. 27. Interviews will be held on Dec. 1 and 2. Mandatory background checks are required of all managers, coaches and Little League volunteers. Send letters to Los Gatos Little League, P.O. Softball sign-ups
The Los GatosSaratoga Girls Softball Association will hold sign-ups for girls ages 714 on Nov. 5 and 12, 79 p.m., in the cafeteria at Los Gatos High School. For more information, call Ken Barker at 408.356.8210.
Golf tournament
The Bronco Baseball Golf Tournament, a fundraising event for the Santa Clara University baseball team, will be held Nov. 1 at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose.
The best ball scramble tournament will begin with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start, following a 9 a.m. registration. The $230 entry fee includes green fees, cart, range balls, tee prizes, lunch, dinner and a foursome photo. The cost is $60 for dinner only.

Neale a starter
Austin Neale, former Los Gatos High School football standout, is starting on the defensive squad this fall for the football team at Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash.
Neale has already been in on 17 tackles, nine of them unassisted, and has recovered a fumble. On Sept. 14, he helped Whitworth to a 35-14 win over Montana Tech with four tackles, including one for a loss.
Whitworth plays in NCAA Division III and boasts a 3-1 record this season.
Volleyball club
Boys volleyball club teams are currently being formed in the Los Gatos area. Players ages 1218 are needed for age group teams. For more information, call Louisa Scoggins at 408.362.9005.
