Popell, Velasco
Lauren Diane Popell, a former Los Gatan, and Michael Scott Velasco were married Aug. 24 at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.
The bride is the daughter of Steven and Catherine Popell of Los Altos Hills. A graduate of Henry M. Gunn High School, Bates College in Maine and Stanford University, she is a faculty member at Foothill College in Los Altos Hills.
The groom is the son of Donald and Elizabeth Velasco of Ashland, Ore. A graduate of De La Salle High School and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, he is employed by the U.S. Department of Justice in San Francisco.
They couple resides in Saratoga.

Alexi, Pintarelli
Heather Ann Alexi and William Gerard Pintarelli, both of Los Gatos, were married May 25 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel.
The bride is the granddaughter of Stephen and Maryann Hovan of Sun City West, Ariz. A graduate of Branham High School and San José State University, she is a CPA consultant with Alexi & Associates.
The groom is the son of William and Kathy Pintarelli of New Jersey. A graduate of Paramus Catholic High School and Rutgers University, he works as a manufacturing consultant.
The couple now resides in Florida.
