The Prowler
Now that the rainy season has begun, the Prowler's fancy has turned to thoughts of soup. In this cat's estimation, the best soups are those containing many ingredients. Likewise, this cat thinks that columns are the best—or at least the most valuable—when they contain information on different events.

The ever-hungry Prowler especially likes this first event because the highlight is food! On Nov. 15, the Los Gatos High School girls' field hockey team is holding a steak dinner fundraiser from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the home economics patio area. Along with steak, the meal includes salad, beans, bread, dessert, soda and coffee. At $15 per person, that's a pretty tasty deal!

Proceeds benefit the girls' field hockey team; tickets are available from players or at the door. Speaking of sports, this cat hears that a little later that night, the LGHS football team will be facing off against Saratoga! So why not stick around and support the Wildcats, too?

There's something special cooking Nov. 15 for non-sports fans as well. The Indian Store, located in the "old" part of Old Town, is having a reception from 4 to 8 p.m. in honor of the artists participating in its 30th Anniversary Fall Open House: Isleta Pueblo gourd artist Lisa Chavez, Hopi potter Fawn Navasie Garcia, Seneca painter Carol Snow, Hopi silversmith Jason Takala and Navajo jewelers Richard Begay, Alfred Joe, Allison Lee, Joe Tsosie and Artie Yellowhorse. The open house continues on Nov. 16.

In these dreary days of layoffs and belly-up companies, it's comforting to know that Indian Store owner Janice Benjamin has been in business for three decades! For more info on the open house, call 408.354.9988.
