Students hold annual benefit peformance

Arsenic and Old Lace is the play of choice for the Los Gatos High School Thespian Club's third annual HIV/AIDS benefit performance on Nov. 21, 22 and 23. The production is entirely student-run, with proceeds donated to Broadway Cares, a nonprofit fundraising and grant organization that was founded by American Theater participants in 1988.

All performances will be held at the Prentiss Brown Auditorium on the high school campus. The Nov. 21 performance will be held at 7 p.m. The Nov. 22 and 23 shows will be held at 8 p.m. Donations for the performance will be accepted at the door.


Leigh drama students in fall play

Leigh High School will be performing Cheaper by the Dozen—a family comedy set in the 1920s—on Nov. 21, 22 and 23. All performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $8, and $6 with an Associated Student Body card.


Moon makes dean's list at Gavilan

Los Gatos resident Stephanie Moon has been named to the dean's list at Gavilan College in Gilroy. The dean's list honors students who have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA while enrolling in 12 or more units per semester.


Toy is helping new students at Brown

Alex Benjamin Toy of Los Gatos has been selected as a peer academic advisor for the Meiklejohn program at Brown University. Toy is a first-semester junior majoring in biomedical engineering.

The Meiklejohn program was created to help first-year students plan their academic career at Brown. Peer advisors are selected based on their knowledge of Brown academics, their social skills and willingness to help younger class members.
