Malicious Mischief—Nov. 25, 11:16 p.m. Two juveniles were playing behind a truck parked in a Harding Avenue driveway. The two ran off when they saw the vehicle owner. The owner said nothing was taken but the two had smashed the window to his truck. He said the car associated with the juveniles was still in front of his house. Police traced the car to a Montevina Road residence, but nobody was home. Police handed the case over to the sheriff's office, since Montevina is in the sheriff's jurisdiction.
Vehicle Accident—Nov. 25, 7:31 a.m. There was an accident involving two cars at Wimbledon Drive at Winchester Boulevard, blocking the intersection. It was thought at first that one of the drivers was injured, but the driver wasn't hurt. Police had the vehicles towed.
Under the Influence of Drugs—Nov. 24, 11:09 p.m. Police conducted a traffic stop at Samaritan Drive at Union. The woman driving the car was arrested for being under the influence of drugs, and her car was towed.
Arson—Nov. 24, 9:57 p.m. St. Mary's Catholic Church reported that there had been a fire near the last pew, which burned up part of the carpet. The blaze had occurred sometime between 6 p.m. the previous evening and 7:30 that morning. The fire department was investigating the case as arson.
Traffic Hazard—Nov. 24, 5:46 p.m. The arms of the railroad crossing at Wimbledon and Wedgewood Avenue kept coming down all day, but there was no train approaching. The crossing also kept making a sound for several hours. Police contacted Union-Pacific Railroad because it was the railroad's malfunctioning.
Unstable Person—Nov. 24, 4:29 p.m. A resident of a Vasona Avenue group home called police, saying the owner of the home, who was outside smoking, was going to murder her. Police found out that the woman was possibly confused and delusional because of her medication. Her son was asked to contact the police department.
Injured Person—Nov. 24, 2:11 p.m. A bicyclist on Los Gatos Creek Trail fell off her bike when she was just off Roberts Road. Witnesses said her bone was sticking out of her arm. Emergency personnel had to pull into the town's corporation road and use the Miles Avenue entrance to the trail to pick up the victim, who was taken to Good Samaritan.
Injured Person—Nov. 24, 1:40 p.m. A woman on skates was injured and bleeding from the back of her head. An ambulance picked her up on Church Street and took her to Good Samaritan.
Battery—Nov. 24, 1:27 p.m. At a bar on Los GatosSaratoga Road, a woman was punched in the face by a man who left with three other people. She knew the man's name but didn't know him. She told police that he also waved a cane at her in a threatening manner. A report was taken.
Minor in Possession of Alcohol—Nov. 23, 10:16 p.m. A group of juveniles had a party on Panorama Lane. One of them got into an accident with a neighbor's vehicle and kept knocking on her door, but the neighbor said they appeared to be intoxicated. When police tried to confront the youths one fled, but he was caught. Police called the parents of the teenager who had hosted the party, and he was cited for being in possession of alcohol. An adult in the group was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
