The Prowler
To all those folks who, like the Prowler, are so busy with so many aggravating things this time of year that they forget to have some fun, here's a friendly reminder: The Fantasy of Lights is still lighting up Vasona Lake County Park from 6 to 10 p.m. every night, and it will be through New Year's Eve. With 30 different colorful, holiday-themed light displays that motorists can drive by or through (some even with the illusion of animation), it's definitely worth a trip!

As if that weren't enough, proceeds from the $6 to $13 admission go toward the Silicon Valley Parks Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises funds and support for the 28 parks overseen by the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department. For all the details, call 408.355.2200 or visit www.parkhere.org.

Speaking of new things, the Breast Care Center at Good Samaritan Hospital has just created New Beginnings, a support group for women who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer as well as women who have survived the disease. Facilitated by Dr. Patricia Penn, the meetings take place the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Breast Care Center lobby, located at 15400 National Ave., Suite 200, in Los Gatos. There is no cost to attend; free refreshments will be served. Call 408.358.8414 for more info.

Finally, don't miss A Twelfth Night Concert, which is actually a pair of events taking place Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. at Mirassou Champagne Cellars, located at 300 College Ave. It's part of Carols in the Caves, a series of acoustic concerts held in Northern California wine cellars and estates by eclectic musician David Auerbach.
