Police Report
Battery—Dec. 25, 12:52 p.m. Police received two hang-up calls, and when they tried to return the calls, the phone line was busy. The calls came from a W. Parr Avenue resident who said her husband had grabbed her by the throat and then hit her. Police arrested the husband and then assisted the wife in obtaining an emergency protective restraining order.

Unstable Person—Dec. 24, 9:37 p.m. A man said a female friend of his had said she wanted to kill herself by cutting herself. The man hung onto her in front of his house, not allowing her to leave. He called 911, and the woman was heard saying, "Just let me go" in the background. Police arrived and cleared up the disturbance, which was a disagreement between a boyfriend and girlfriend who were trying to break up. The claims of suicide were determined to be unfounded.

Warrant Served—Dec. 23, 10:56 p.m. A woman went to the Los Gatos­Monte Sereno Police Department on a $1,081 warrant from the department for driving across a divided highway, not having a vehicle registration card, not having proof of insurance and violating a promise to appear. She was cited and assigned a court date in February.

DUI—Dec. 23, 4:31 p.m. A driver saw a silver Buick hit an Acura on Daves Avenue and Winchester Boulevard. The damaged vehicle stayed in the area, but a witness followed the Buick. The driver of the Buick parked on Hacienda Avenue at Del Loma in Campbell. Campbell police made contact with the suspect and arrested him for driving under the influence and doing a hit and run. There was also a $25,000 warrant for his arrest from the county sheriff's office for contempt of court.

Possession of Marijuana—Dec. 23, 12:20 a.m. Police conducted a traffic stop on Los Gatos­Saratoga Road. The 17-year-old driver of the car was cited for possessing marijuana. The suspect's father came to pick up his daughter as well as the passenger in the car and left her car parked in a side lot.

Robbery—Dec. 22, 7:26 p.m. Two people went into a Los Gatos Boulevard gas station. Both were wearing ski masks. One of the suspects, who was not armed, reached over the counter and grabbed $20 from the clerk. They left on foot. Police took a report.

Skateboard Violation—Dec. 22, 5 p.m. Three 14-year-old males were skateboarding in a school parking lot, violating regulations. Police made contact with the juveniles, who left the parking lot.

Identity Theft—Dec. 22, 1:52 p.m. A bank in Florida received an application with the personal information of a Los Gatos resident. The resident had not applied for anything in Florida. Police took a report.

DUI—Dec. 22, 12:03 a.m. Police received a call from someone who was driving behind a person who looked like he was under the influence. The suspect parked in front of The Gap on University Avenue, leaving his vehicle partly on the curb. He got out of his car and stood by his car, drunk and stumbling on the sidewalk. Police arrested the 44-year-old man.
